Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced lead technician in Penang to oversee diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment. You will guide a team, ensure high safety and quality standards, and manage maintenance logs and inventory.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving across hydraulic, diesel, LPG, and electric systems, with a focus on reliability, safety, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading diagnostics and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Hands-on PMS execution and fleet maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, IC engines, transmissions, and electrical/electronic controls.
• Proven ability to mentor junior mechanics and elevate technical capability.
• Commitment to safety standards and quality control.
• Experience maintaining spare parts inventory and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair activities for forklifts and MHE fleet.
• Execute and oversee preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
• Diagnose complex issues across hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical controls.
• Guide, train, and mentor junior mechanics to raise team technical capability.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure safety and compliance before return to service.
• Assist in inventory management and maintain accurate maintenance logs.

Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Lead troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair activities for a diverse fleet of forklifts (Diesel, LPG, and Electric/Battery-operated) and material handling equipment.

Preventive Maintenance: Execute and oversee scheduled PMS (Preventive Maintenance Services) to minimize equipment downtime and ensure maximum fleet reliability.

System Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex issues across hydraulic systems, internal combustion engines, transmissions, and electrical/electronic control systems.

Technical Leadership: Guide, train, and mentor junior mechanics, sharing your wealth of knowledge to elevate the team's overall technical capability.

Safety & Quality Control: Inspect completed repair jobs to ensure they meet strict safety standards and operational specifications before equipment goes back into service.

Inventory & Reporting: Assist in managing spare parts inventory, identifying required components, and maintaining accurate maintenance logs.
