KES International in Malaysia seeks an experienced materials planning and procurement leader to own end-to-end planning, coordinating with ops, sales, and finance to align demand, capacity, and inventory. You will build purchasing strategies, maintain healthy stock, and support NPI with BOM readiness.
You will monitor material flow, develop dashboards for OTIF and inventory metrics, mitigate supply risks, and coach a high-performing team across planning, purchasing, and stores.
Jora Malaysia will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities):
Own end-to-end materials planning and control: demand translation, supply plans, MRP/MPS settings, safety stocks, and planning parameters.
Lead S&OP/SIOP cadence with ops, sales, and finance; drive alignment on demand, capacity, inventory, and build plans.
Build and optimize purchasing strategies: supplier selection, qualification, performance management, and contract terms.
Maintain healthy inventory: set and tune reorder points, min/max, ABC/XYZ classifications, cycle counts, and excess/obsolete programs.
Partner with engineering on new product introduction (NPI): BOM readiness, lead-time risk, phase-in/out, and alternates.
Monitor and improve material flow: receiving, kitting, WIP, and line-side availability; remove bottlenecks with data-driven process changes.
Create dashboards for service level (OTIF), inventory turns, aging, lead time, and forecast accuracy; act on signals, not noise.
Mitigate risk: dual-source, long-lead visibility, buffer strategies, and supply continuity plans for critical parts.
Coach and develop a high-performing team across planning, purchasing, and stores; elevate standards and tools.
Champion systems: configure ERP/MRP, clean masters (BOMs, routings, lead times), and drive adoption of best practices.
What do we need from you (Job Requirements):
6–10+ years in materials management, supply planning, or procurement in manufacturing or hardware-intensive environments.
Deep experience with ERP/MRP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and planning concepts (MRP I/II, DRP, S&OP/SIOP).
Proven track record improving OTIF, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy while reducing expedites and stockouts.
Analytical mindset: Excel/Sheets power user; familiarity with SQL or BI tools is a plus.
Solid understanding of BOM structures, ECOs, lead times, MOQ/SPQ, and costed BOMs; adept at part lifecycle management and alternates.
Experience supporting NPIs and EOL transitions; comfortable balancing long-lead procurement with change agility.
Certifications like APICS CPIM/CSCP or ISM CPSM are a plus.
