Agilent Technologies is seeking a Materials Engineer in Malaysia to source engineering materials for Electronics Components/OEM and to improve supplier piece-parts quality. You will support NPI and Product Transfer, and assist manufacturing with material-related issues while guiding junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering or equivalent with 3-5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support interpreting specifications and documenting procedures for inspection equipment.
• Identifies inspection and test requirements for incoming pieces to ensure quality.
• Analyzes data, feeds back quality performance, and follows up on supplier quality issues.
• Leads in sourcing substitute materials to reduce cost while ensuring supply and improving quality.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material issues to disposition non-conforming parts.

Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support in terms of specification interpretation, adequacy of existing documentation, disposition of non-conforming materials, and training on the usage of all inspection measuring equipment.
• Identifies and plans for inspection and test requirements needed for adequate assessment of the quality of incoming piece-parts.
• Analyzes inspection, evaluation and test data. Feedback quality performance and follow‑up on quality issues with suppliers.
• Active involvement in quality improvement program with suppliers.
• Leads in sourcing for substitute/ alternative materials to achieve cost savings, ensuring assurance of supply and / or improve quality of piece‑parts.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material related issues to ensure correct disposition of non‑conformance materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical & Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering Sciences or equivalent with minimum 3-5 years related experience.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels.
• Flexible in switching roles, responsibility & new task when needed.
• A desire to work under aggressive deadlines, fast paced & collaborate environment.
• Resourcefulness, attention to details, demonstrate sound analysis skill and offering solutions.
