Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support in interpretation of specifications, adequacy of documentation, disposition of non-conforming materials, and training on inspection measuring equipment.
• Identifies and plans inspection and test requirements for adequate assessment of incoming part quality.
• Analyzes inspection, evaluation and test data; feedback quality performance and follow-up on supplier issues.
• Active involvement in quality improvement programs with suppliers.
• Leads in sourcing substitute/alternative materials to achieve cost savings while ensuring supply and quality of parts.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material issues to ensure correct disposition of non-conforming materials.

Job Description

Materials Engineer sources for engineering materials related to PCA / Electronics / Electro-Mechanical / Mechanical; to improve the quality of suppliers' piece-parts in the area of responsibility. Identifies and evaluates alternative materials or suppliers to maintain competitive quality, assurance of supply and/or pricing of piece-parts. Provide technical support for NPI (New Product Introduction) & Product Transfer. Assists manufacturing in resolving material related issues, and also provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support in terms of specification interpretation, adequacy of existing documentation, disposition of non-conforming materials, and training on the usage of all inspection measuring equipment.
