Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a Materials Engineer to source and manage engineering materials for electronics components, support NPI and product transfers, and help resolve material-related issues.

You will evaluate replacements, work with suppliers, analyze data, and ensure quality and supply while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Engineering, Mechatronics, or Materials Engineering.
• 3–5 years related experience.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with all levels.
• Flexible to switch roles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support in specification interpretation and adequacy of documentation; trains on inspection equipment usage.
• Identifies and plans inspection and test requirements for quality assessment of incoming parts.
• Analyzes inspection, evaluation and test data; provides feedback on quality issues with suppliers.
• Active involvement in quality improvement programs with suppliers.
• Leads sourcing for substitute/alternative materials to achieve cost savings and ensure supply and/or quality of parts.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material-related issues to ensure correct disposition of non-conforming materials.

Job DescriptionMaterials Engineer sources for engineering materials related to Electronics Components / OEM; to improve the quality of suppliers' piece-parts in the area of responsibility. Identifies and evaluates alternative materials or suppliers to maintain competitive quality, assurance of supply and/or pricing of piece-parts. Provide technical support for NPI (New Product Introduction) & Product Transfer. Assists manufacturing in resolving material related issues, and also provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.Responsibilities:Provides technical support in terms of specification interpretation, adequacy of existing documentation, disposition of non-conforming materials, and training on the usage of all inspection measuring equipment.Identifies and plans for inspection and test requirements needed for adequate assessment of the quality of incoming piece-parts.Analyzes inspection, evaluation and test data.
