Maukerja Malaysia is seeking a Material Planner for a hybrid role. You will develop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules and forecasts, execute MRP to secure raw materials, and monitor inventory to minimize shortages and excess stock.
You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, and suppliers, review ageing and slow-moving stock, and generate reports to guide decisions. ERP/MRP experience is essential.
80% Material Planning, 20% Procurement/ Purchasing
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain material plans based on production schedules, customer demand forecasts, and inventory requirements.
Perform material requirement planning (MRP) to ensure sufficient raw materials are available for production.
Monitor material availability and proactively identify potential shortages or supply risks.
Maintain MRP parameters including lead time, MOQ, reorder levels, and safety stock.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimal stock while minimising excess inventory and material shortages.
Review inventory status, ageing stock, and slow-moving materials.
Analyse inventory data and recommend improvement actions.
Manage purchase order activities and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages, and material availability.
Support supplier performance monitoring related to delivery performance and supply reliability.
Prepare material planning, inventory, and supply chain reports to support decision-making.
Utilise ERP/MRP systems to monitor demand, supply, and inventory status.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related disciplines.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, supply chain planning, or similar roles within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in Material Requirement Planning (MRP), inventory planning, demand planning, and production support.
Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems).
