Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor's in Supply Chain/Logistics with 2–4 years of planning experience, proficiency in ERP/MRP, and strong Excel data analysis.

MFS Technology (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our dynamic team in Batu Berendam, Melaka. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our supply chain and inventory management operations. As Material Planner, you will be responsible for forecasting material requirements, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our manufacturing and logistics operations. This role is strategically important to our organisation as it directly impacts production schedules, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material demand forecasts based on production schedules, sales orders, and historical data
• Plan and coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimise stock holding whilst minimising wastage
• Analyse supplier performance and maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure quality and reliability
• Prepare material requirements planning (MRP) reports and presentations for management review
• Collaborate with production, sales and logistics teams to align material planning with operational needs
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in material planning and inventory management
• Track and reconcile discrepancies between planned and actual material usage
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all material planning activities and decisions

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2-4 years of proven experience in material planning, procurement, or inventory management within a manufacturing or logistics environment
• Strong proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and materials management software
• Excellent knowledge of demand forecasting techniques, inventory control methods, and procurement processes
• Advanced spreadsheet skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous
• Experience with lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems is preferred
