Job summary

Ocean Vantage Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an organized Material Coordinator to support planning, tracking, receiving, storage, and distribution for engineering, maintenance, and project needs. You will ensure materials and equipment are available per planned schedules and coordinate with multiple teams.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple material demands at sites and facilities. Experience with ERP and MS Office is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in material coordination, materials management, warehouse, logistics, procurement, or related field is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of material planning, inventory control, and logistics processes.
• Ability to read material specs, purchase orders, and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience with ERP, warehouse, or material management systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and follow-up skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping abilities.
• Willing to work at operational and project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material requirements for engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and project activities.
• Monitor and track material requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries, and outstanding items.
• Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to follow up on material availability and delivery schedules.
• Liaise with Warehouse and Logistics for receiving, storage, handling, and issuance of materials.
• Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, specifications, quantities, and documentation.
• Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, critical items, and potential delays.
• Ensure materials are identified, labelled, stored, and protected from damage.
• Coordinate timely delivery and distribution of materials to work sites.
• Maintain records of material movements, stock levels, deliveries, issues, and outstanding requirements.
• Prepare material status reports and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Support material reconciliation and documentation for issued/returned materials.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection, certification, and quality documentation.
• Support turnaround, shutdown, and major maintenance by ensuring material readiness.
• Ensure handling and coordination comply with HSSE, Company, and project requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Job description

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Material Coordinator to support material planning, tracking, receiving, storage, and distribution activities for engineering, maintenance, and project requirements. The role will ensure materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment are properly coordinated and available according to planned work schedules.

The successful candidate will work closely with Materials, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and contractors to monitor material status and resolve any shortages, delays, or delivery issues.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate material requirements for engineering, maintenance, turnaround, and project activities.

Monitor and track material requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries, and outstanding items.

Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to follow up on material availability and delivery schedules.

Liaise with Warehouse and Logistics teams for the receiving, storage, handling, and issuance of materials.

Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, specifications, quantities, and supporting documentation.

Support turnaround, shutdown, and major maintenance activities by ensuring material readiness.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Experience in material coordination, materials management, warehouse, logistics, procurement, or a related field will be an advantage.

Ability to read and understand material specifications, purchase orders, and technical documents.
