Job summary

Hirehub Group in Klang, Malaysia, seeks a seasoned Materials Manager to lead the Materials Department and ensure timely, high-quality material supply for engineering projects. You will manage planning, procurement, control, and utilization of materials across site operations.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain or related field with 5–8 years of material management experience and strong leadership in ERP-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee material planning in line with project schedules and site requirements.

• Lead documentation management for material certifications and inspection records.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor material storage and compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Develop scrap and surplus material handling processes to optimize cost and resources.
• Coordinate with internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers for smooth material flow.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the materials team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

Lead and manage the overall operations of the Materials Department to ensure effective planning, procurement, control, and utilization of materials in support of engineering project execution. Responsible for ensuring timely supply, quality compliance, and cost-effective material management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee material planning in line with project schedules, demand forecasts, and site requirements Manage material receiving, inspection, and quality control to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
• Establish and implement inventory management strategies, ensuring stock accuracy, safety, and proper storage
• Lead documentation management for material certifications, inspection records, and submission to relevant stakeholders
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor material storage, usage, and compliance with safety and quality requirements
• Develop and implement processes for scrap and surplus material handling to optimize cost and resource utilization
• Coordinate closely with internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth material flow
• Lead, supervise, and develop the materials team to achieve operational efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in material management, preferably in engineering or project-based environments
• Strong knowledge of material planning, inventory control, and quality management processes
• Familiar with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) Proven leadership and team management experience
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
