Job summary

Cancer Research Malaysia is seeking a Marketing Communications Associate to plan, coordinate, and execute events and public campaigns. You will manage logistics, assist with pre/post-event communications, and help create promotional materials for online and offline channels.

The role involves collaboration with internal teams, basic Canva/graphic design tasks, and social media support, with a hybrid work arrangement. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and experience in events is valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in business, marketing, mass communication, event management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in related field; fresh graduates welcome.
• Strong interest in event coordination and public-facing campaigns.
• Team player with good communication, positive attitude, and sense of responsibility.
• Canva, basic video editing, or graphic design skills are a strong advantage.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
• Able to prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Takes initiative and demonstrates a proactive work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events, such as charity runs, awareness campaigns, and public engagement activities.
• Coordinate event logistics, including venue setup, registration, equipment, vendor liaison, and on-the-ground support.
• Assist in pre-event and post-event communications, such as briefs, registration, surveys, and event reports.
• Support creation of event promotional materials and amplify visibility via social media, email blasts, and internal networks.
• Provide support for visuals/content for merchandise, digital printing, and online channels.
• Support administrative tasks related to marketing operations, including inventories, vendor coordination, and internal documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to contribute creative input and coordinate resources for campaigns.
• Be open to ad hoc tasks or projects; hybrid working arrangements.

Marketing Communications Associate

SCOPE / PURPOSE OF JOB / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events, especially those under Marketing Communications and Donor Engagement, such as charity runs, awareness campaigns, and public engagement activities.
• Coordinate event logistics, including venue setup, registration, equipment, vendor liaison, and on-the-ground support to ensure smooth execution.
• Assist in pre-event and post-event communications, such as preparing event briefs, managing registration, handling feedback surveys, and compiling event reports.
• Support the creation of event promotional materials (e.g., online promotion, banners, signage) and help amplify event visibility through social media, email blasts, and internal networks.
• Provide support for other marketing communications activities including:
  • Creative design using Canva or other designing tools for digital and print materials (e.g., posters, flyers, social media content).
  • Content creation and scheduling for CRMY’s social media platforms in collaboration with agency.
  • Support to prepare visuals and content for merchandise, digital printing, and online channels.
• Support administrative tasks related to marketing operations, including managing inventories, vendor coordination, and internal documentation.
• Collaborate with various internal teams to contribute creative input and coordinate resources for ongoing campaigns and initiatives.
• Be open to assist on ad hoc tasks or projects as needed.
• Hybrid working arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Mass Communication, Event Management, or a related field.
• At least 2 years’ experience of working in related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
