Job summary

FOZ One Sdn Bhd in Senai, Johor, Malaysia seeks a Technology Development Manager to lead the Process & Technology Development (PTD) department. The role will study new manufacturing methods and automation tech, translating findings into a prioritized technology roadmap for the Business Unit.

You will benchmark emerging technologies, convert data into ROI-driven roadmaps, and manage a balanced project portfolio while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Electrical) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, process or equipment engineering.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with DOE/DFMEA and IP considerations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark emerging manufacturing and automation technologies to identify step-change operational gains.
• Convert plant performance data and engineering needs into a prioritized 12-month technology roadmap with clear ROI and payback analysis.
• Balance active project pipelines to match department resource capacity.
• Lead process concepts from prototype trials and physics validation through to design review, commissioning, and qualification.
• Draft precise equipment specifications for internal and external builders.
• Oversee prior-art and freedom-to-operate searches prior to project commitments.
