Job summary

British American Tobacco Group in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality across external supply partners. You will manage BAU quality output, drive PPAP/APQP processes, and work with Tier 1 suppliers to ensure right-first-time quality and continuous improvement.

The role requires 2–5 years in FMCG quality, plus experience with APQP, PPAP, Six Sigma, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Operations-based Quality management in FMCG Supply Chain (2-5 years).
• Quality management processes.
• Experience with monthly & Weekly control cycles.
• Experience of process approval for New Product introduction.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day liaison and supply-base management for Quality performance at the Tier 1 Supplier.
• Being a local and active customer partner who will respond to supplier issues and concerns immediately.
• Deliver the assessment of supply base process capability and opportunities to increase output without impacting quality; reduce cost.
• Manage the BAU Quality output performance of the supply chain by analysing data and statistics.
• Drive programme actions aligned to Consumer Complaints and quality improvement Glide paths.
• Manage and witness the APQP/PPAP process from a BAU perspective, PSW only when data-driven success is evident.
• Travel to 2nd/3rd tier suppliers as needed to address issues.
• Lead Lean 6 Sigma and process flow analysis activities on GB projects on-site.
