The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, enhancing production efficiency, resolving technical issues and ensuring product quality through effective engineering solutions.

The incumbent will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Project Management and Production, as well as customers, to ensure successful product industrialisation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and engineering support throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including prototype development, process validation and production implementation.
  • Collaborate with customer design engineers and internal engineering teams during the prototyping phase to review product designs and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Excellence (DFX) recommendations.
  • Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes, machining methods, tooling and fixtures to ensure production feasibility, process reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing productivity, optimise production processes, reduce operational costs and improve overall shop‑floor performance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and production‑related technical issues to minimise downtime, improve process stability and ensure smooth production operations.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering and Project Management teams to investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Analyse non‑conforming products and manufacturing processes, identify potential improvement opportunities and implement appropriate engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support process optimisation and standardisation activities to improve product quality, process consistency and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant engineering documentation, technical reports, process specifications and improvement records.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure engineering activities, project deliverables and production requirements are achieved within the agreed timelines.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
Working Experience
  • Experience in the metal fabrication, machining or machinery manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, CNC machining or New Product Introduction (NPI) activities is preferred.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
  • Good understanding of CNC machining and metal‑cutting technologies.
  • Knowledge of material science and engineering materials.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and machining methods.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.
  • Knowledge of problem‑solving methodologies, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyse manufacturing issues and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, particularly when working with customers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple engineering priorities effectively.
