Job summary

Medifox DAN GmbH is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer - Headgear to support and continuously improve manufacturing operations, drive operational excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for safe, efficient, and compliant production of high-quality headgear products.

The role involves leading process management, lean initiatives, and validation activities, while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement across the manufacturing ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive and oversee manufacturing processes including layout, material flow, validation, routing, and lean initiatives.
• Monitor and improve efficiency, productivity, and process capability to meet targets.
• Investigate and resolve non-conformances via root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assess operational risks and implement mitigation for continuity and resilience.
• Support GMP, regulatory requirements, EHS, and audits.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and solutions-oriented Manufacturing Engineer - Headgear to support and continuously improve our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring robust manufacturing processes, driving operational excellence initiatives, supporting new product introductions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products safely, efficiently, and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Management

• Drive and oversee manufacturing processes, including production line layout, material flow optimization, process validation, routing, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and process capability to meet operational targets.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing non-conformances through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assess operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to support business continuity and manufacturing resilience.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to established manufacturing standards.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory requirements, and company policies relating to Quality, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and operational excellence.
• Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Technical Leadership & Problem Solving

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for manufacturing processes and provide technical support to cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Lead or participate in troubleshooting activities to resolve complex technical and process-related issues.
• Coach and support technicians in identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges.
• Apply engineering principles and data-driven methodologies to improve process performance and product quality.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Drive Business Excellence initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, waste reduction, and process optimization projects.
• Support the evaluation, development, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and best practices.
• Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, PFMEAs, and other process documentation to ensure sustainable operational excellence.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Collaborate closely with NPI, Quality, R&D, and Production teams during process development and product transfer activities.
• Provide manufacturing input during product and process design reviews to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and process robustness.
• Support validation activities and successful transition from development to mass production.

Collaboration & Behaviours

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, and process validation methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve engineering and manufacturing challenges with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
