Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead projects, drive efficiency, and support LEAN continuous improvement across product and process engineering. Responsibilities

• Lead assigned projects to ensure high efficiency and KPI achievement.
• Provide product/process/ test engineering support for projects.
• Plan and manage projects and report progress to supervisor.
• Coordinate delivery timelines and liaise with customers on technical discussions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs including LEAN and CTI.
• Purchase materials when needed and follow up with SCM on shortages.
• Maintain BOM accuracy and update work instructions and QC checklists.
• Conduct LEAN analyses and drive standardization across the work-cell.

Job description

Leads the project(s) assigned to him/ her and assure that the projects/ products are operating in a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, and strive to achieve the given key performance indicators (KPIs). Be a creative and proactive contributor to the management team, results orientated, and focus on continuous improvement through LEAN concepts.

Responsible for product, process, test engineering and other engineering/ technical supports for the assigned projects/ products.

Responsible for planning and managing the assigned (partially/ entirely) projects if appointed as a Project Lead/ Coordinator. Report project progress to immediate superior regularly.

Responsible for coordinating the project to ensure that delivery date lines are met.

To liase with Customers concerning the assigned projects/ products technically and document the technical discussions.

To provide technical feedback on issue concerning the projects/ products and work closely with other department on continuous improvement programs, such as cost down programs like cycle time improvements (CTI).

To purchase materials for the assigned project/ products when necessary. Follow up with the SCM Department on the purchased parts shortages.

Responsible to achieve the departmental goals and quality objectives set forth by the Management by working closely with the immediate superior through planning, implementing, and closed-loop improvements.

Responsible for BOM accuracy, audits and update and document projects/ products Work Instructions (WI), Process Control Plan (PCP), process FMECA, Assembly Checklists, Equipment Preventive Maintenance Checklists, and other QMS documented responsibilities. Co-develop the product quality checklists for the projects/ products as and required.

Responsible for product/ projects parts cycle/physical inventory count as and when requested.

Responsible to conduct analyses, and implement LEAN practices across the assigned work-cell that initiated by other Manufacturing Engineers for standardization purposes.

To perform any job task assigned by his/her superior from time to time.

Requirements

EDUCATION: Diploma/ BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Mechatronics/ Manufacturing/ Robotics Engineering or equivalent or higher.

EXPERIENCE: University graduate with at least 3 years of working experience on the same field or Diploma graduates with at least 5 years of similar working experience or University fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Special Skills & Knowledge

• CAD knowledge, sound technical knowledge on manufacturing processes, able to read mechanical drawings, E&E and pneumatics schematics.
• Capable of leading and managing a small group of people, good in project management, work independently, self-initiated and self-motivated, good personality and reliable person.
• Good operational, leadership and interpersonal skills with excellence drive and enthusiasm.
