Job summary

myNews is seeking a Data Analyst / Demand Planning professional to lead the sales planning process for the Fresh Food department in myCU, aligning demand, supply and financial plans. You will analyze market trends, conduct range reviews and drive product, promo and sales improvements across nationwide stores and apps.

The role requires strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on automation and fast-paced execution to support business growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in retail / CVS / FMCG / food service.
• Background in data analysis, demand planning, sales & planning, or related F&B operations.
• Ability to automate processes and minimize manual work with IT tools.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation skills for promotional support from suppliers.
• Results-oriented, able to work at a fast pace, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the sales planning process for the Fresh Food department for myCU, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, revenue and financial plans.
• Monitor and analyse historical and current market trends to provide insights and recommendations to the Fresh Food R&D team for product and menu development.
• Conduct range reviews and drive continuous improvement of the product offering through effective range and sales performance analysis.
• Prepare sales data reports and business insights for management and JV companies, providing a holistic view of sales performance and business opportunities.
• Develop and plan promotions across nationwide stores, new opening stores, apps, online (GrabMart, FoodPanda, TNG) for myCU. Collaborate closely with Marketing and Operations to ensure promotions are executed on time and effectively.
• Track and evaluate promotion effectiveness and identifying opportunities to optimize promotional mechanics, product mix and sales performance.
• Conduct regular store visits and market research to monitor consumer trends, competitor activities and Fresh Food market developments.
• Manage TTA and identify, evaluate, and develop strategic collaboration opportunities with external partners to support sales growth, category development, and business expansion.

Job Requirements

• 1. Min 5 year(s) of working experience in retail / CVS / FMCG / food service industry.
• 2. Data Analyst / Demand Planning / Sales & Planning or other relevant F&B Operations background can be considered.
• 3. Think out of the box; make use of the tools / IT expertise to minimise manual work and aim for automation.
• 4. Highly analytical mind and skills, communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills to support business-decision making and help drive business efficiency.
• 5. Strong negotiation skills and experience of negotiating promotional support from suppliers.
• 6. Result oriented, able to work at a fast pace, multi-task and tight deadlines environment.
