Job summary

myNEWS HOLDINGS BERHAD is seeking a data-driven Sales Planning professional to lead the Fresh Food planning for myCU across Malaysia. You will align demand, supply and revenue with financial plans, study market trends and drive product range improvements.

Responsibilities include developing promotions across nationwide stores and apps, evaluating promotion success, and collaborating with Marketing and Operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in retail / CVS / FMCG / food service industries.
• Background in Data Analysis, Demand Planning, Sales & Planning or related F&B operations considered.
• Must think creatively to automate processes and reduce manual work.
• Strong analytical mind with written and verbal communication skills to support decision making.
• Strong negotiation skills for promotions and supplier support.
• Able to work fast, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market trends to inform Fresh Food R&D for product/menu development.
• Conduct range reviews and drive improvements in product offerings and sales performance.
• Prepare sales data reports and business insights for management and JV companies.
• Develop and plan promotions across nationwide stores and apps (GrabMart, FoodPanda, TNG); coordinate with Marketing and Operations.
• Track promotion effectiveness and optimize promotional mechanics, product mix and sales.
• Conduct store visits and market research on consumer trends and competitor activity.
• Manage TTA and explore strategic collaborations to support sales growth and expansion.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage the sales planning process for the Fresh Food department for myCU, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, revenue and financial plans.
2. Monitor and analyse historical and current market trends to provide insights and recommendations to the Fresh Food R&D team for product and menu development.
3. Conduct range reviews and drive continuous improvement of the product offering through effective range and sales performance analysis.
4. Prepare sales data reports and business insights for management and JV companies, providing a holistic view of sales performance and business opportunities.
5. Develop and plan promotions across nationwide stores, new opening stores, apps, online (GrabMart, FoodPanda, TNG) for myCU. Collaborate closely with Marketing and Operations to ensure promotions are executed on time and effectively.
6. Track and evaluate promotion effectiveness and identifying opportunities to optimize promotional mechanics, product mix and sales performance.
7. Conduct regular store visits and market research to monitor consumer trends, competitor activities and Fresh Food market developments.
8. Manage TTA and identify, evaluate, and develop strategic collaboration opportunities with external partners to support sales growth, category development, and business expansion.
Job Requirements
1. Min 5 year(s) of working experience in retail / CVS / FMCG / food service industry.
2. Data Analyst / Demand Planning / Sales & Planning or other relevant F&B Operations background can be considered.
3. Think out of the box; make use of the tools / IT expertise to minimise manual work and aim for automation.
4. Highly analytical mind and skills, communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills to support business‑decision making and help drive business efficiency.
5. Strong negotiation skills and experience of negotiating promotional support from suppliers.
6. Result oriented, able to work at a fast pace, multi-task and tight deadlines environment.
