RSPO is seeking a Manager, Organisational Development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role drives learning, engagement, and organisational effectiveness, reporting to the Head of Organisational Development and coordinating delivery through the OD team.

The successful candidate will lead capability strategies, advise senior stakeholders, and oversee governance across performance, promotion and design of roles to strengthen our global sustainable palm oil mission.

  • Lead Learning & Development initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.

  • Design engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Monitor performance management framework and governance.

Job description

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Today, the RSPO is a global, non‑profit organisation with over 6,000 voluntary members across 104 countries and territories, representing every link in the supply chain: oil palm producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation non‑governmental organisations (NGOs), and social or developmental NGOs.

The Manager, Organisational Development manages initiatives that strengthen organisational capability, performance, engagement and effectiveness. Reporting to the Head of Organisational Development, the role translates OD priorities into practical frameworks and programmes, advises leaders, evaluates organisational impact and oversees delivery by the OD team.

The location of this role is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

Learning & Development
  • Lead Training Needs Analysis (TNA) exercise and translate capability gaps and workforce needs into targeted learning plans and interventions.
  • Develop learning plans and interventions based on organisational priorities, capability gaps and workforce needs.
  • Advise leaders on employee and leadership development solutions and evaluate learning effectiveness.
  • Use learning data and feedback to recommend improvements and report organisational impact.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Develop employee engagement, recognition, culture and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
  • Analyse employee feedback and partner with leaders to establish and monitor targeted action plans.
  • Evaluate outcomes and recommend improvements to strengthen the employee experience.
Performance Management
  • Manage the performance management framework and annual cycle, including KPI setting, reviews, appraisals and system improvements.
  • Coordinate promotion and related review processes, ensuring submissions are assessed consistently against approved criteria and governance requirements.
  • Support Head, OD on performance feedback and improvement and lead talent review and succession planning activities.
  • Analyse performance and talent trends and provide recommendations to the Head, Organisational Development.
Organisation Design
  • Support organisational design and workforce planning by analysing structures, reporting lines, role clarity and capability requirements.
  • Manage job analysis, job description reviews and job evaluation exercises to support consistent role sizing and grading recommendations.
  • Assess proposals for new, revised or repurposed roles and provide evidence‑based recommendations.
  • Support leaders in implementing approved organisational changes effectively.
Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop and manage partnerships with universities, professional bodies and other institutions.
  • Identify collaborations that support capability development, internships, early‑career talent, employer branding and community engagement.
  • Evaluate partnership outcomes and recommend continuation, improvement or expansion.
Governance
  • Monitor progress, budgets, risks and outcomes, and manage consultants and vendors against agreed deliverables.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to the Head of Organisational Development and perform other duties reasonably assigned.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in organisational development or a related HR discipline.
Technical and Professional Knowledge
  • Practical experience in performance management, promotion processes, organisation design and job evaluation.
  • Experience designing and managing organisation wide people programmes and advising senior stakeholders.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required; experience in an international or multicultural organisation is an advantage
