Job summary

AIA Digital+ in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned developer and team lead for the Integral Life Delivery Management (SG Tech team). You will lead development, deployment, and support of Integral Life applications to meet business requirements and improve operations.

The role requires at least 10 years in life insurance application development using Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL, along with AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, Control Language and SQL. You will mentor juniors and drive SDLC compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or related area.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience in application development for life insurance.
• Experience with Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL system.
• Strong knowledge of AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, Control Language and SQL development.

Responsibilities

Position Objective:

As a developer in Integral Life Delivery Management for SG Tech team, you're responsible for leading the development, deployment and support of Integral Life Application to meet business requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing solutions and development of new technical solutions to improve company’s operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• As a team lead, accountable to the team performance and development.
• Actively discuss with reporting manager(s) to align on expectations and goals setting for the team.
• Involving in team resource plan and budgeting.
• In charge of Integral Life system requirement gathering, impact analysis, propose solutions, code development, unit testing, UAT support (incl. UAT EOD batch support) and deployment (BAU and Projects).
• Obey and follow on prevailing SDLC, Development, and other standards.
• System delivery according to determined scopes, timeline, and quality.
• Take accountability/supportive on production incident/problem tickets caused by any disobedience SDLC process.
• Supportive to provide management updates on system/project related activities.
• Understand functionalities and technical aspects of the system; analyze technical impact on interfacing systems.
• To adhere to and support on Integral Life security, standard and compliance matters.
• Actively participate in Team activities such sharing (knowledges, ideas etc.), mentoring, coaching (junior), system upgrade/maintenance etc.
• Degree in IT or related areas.
• Has minimum 10 years of working experience in the application development for life insurance domain using Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL system.
• Intermediate knowledge of AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, Control Language and SQL development.
• Fast learner and has strong analytical and impact analysis skills to provide feedbacks/inputs on user requirements.
• Has good personality and attitude with experience leading a team.
