Job summary

Net2Source (N2S) seeks an experienced IT lead with a strong background in life insurance application development using Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL systems. The role requires handling team initiatives, delivering robust solutions, and ensuring SDLC compliance.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, and SQL, and will mentor junior engineers while coordinating with stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in application development for life insurance domain.
• Experience with Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL system.
• Proficient in AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, Control Language and SQL development.

Responsibilities

• As a team lead, accountable to the team performance and development.
• Actively discuss with reporting manager(s) to align on expectations and goals setting for the team.
• Involving in team resource plan and budgeting.
• In charge of Integral Life system requirement gathering, impact analysis, propose solutions, code development, unit testing, UAT support (incl. UAT EOD batch support) and deployment (BAU and Projects).
• Obey and follow on prevailing SDLC, Development, and other standards.
• System delivery according to determined scopes, timeline, and quality.
• Take accountability/supportive on production incident/problem tickets caused by any disobedience SDLC process.
• Supportive to provide management updates on system/project related activities.
• Understand functionalities and technical aspects of the system; analyze technical impact on interfacing systems.
• To adhere to and support on Integral Life security, standard and compliance matters.
• Actively participate in Team activities such sharing (knowledges, ideas etc.), mentoring, coaching (junior), system upgrade/maintenance etc.

Financial and Non-Financial Measures:

• Ensures that Integral Life BAU issues are resolved within agreed SLA.
• Responsible for system solutions deliverable to support the initiatives.
• Achieve personal KPIs and contribute to Technology overall initiatives and goals.
• Personal development is one of factors to be considered as well.

Communication Requirements

• Internal: Internal Staff across divisions (project managers, development teams, business analysts, tribe leads, tribe team leads, HODs, system owners etc.) and Distribution channels
• External: Service Providers and Business Partners
• Degree in IT or related areas.
• Has minimum 10 years of working experience in the application development for life insurance domain using Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL system.
• Intermediate knowledge of AS400, COBOL, SMART/400, Control Language and SQL development.
• Fast learner and has strong analytical and impact analysis skills to provide feedbacks/inputs on user requirements.
• Has good personality and attitude.
• Has experience lead a team.

Reporting Structure and Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Head of SG Technology Centre
• As a team lead, he/she is responsible to lead a team and has supervisory oversight on the team members including providing technical leadership
