Job summary

Koon Seng Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the full spectrum of IT functions, including systems, networks, and applications that support daily operations. The role requires at least a degree in IT or computer science and 5 years of hands-on IT experience, with knowledge of ERP systems, BI, and SQL maintenance.

Strong communication in Malay and English is essential. You will manage IT staff, control budgets, implement security measures, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

Job description

Managing the full spectrum of IT functions, including organizing, implementing, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and applications that support daily operations.

Key responsibilities

Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and evaluating performance

Overseeing the annual budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness

Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance

Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software when necessary

Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems to ensure they operate effectively

Generating performance reports on operating systems and sharing them with HODs or Top Management

Ensuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations

Evaluating technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures

Running regular checks on network and data security

Developing, implementing, and reviewing IT policies and best practices

About you

Possess at least a Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification

At least five (5) years of hands-on working experience in IT application support-related fields

Knowledge of ERP systems, Business Intelligence (BI), and SQL database maintenance will be an added advantage

Possess a high level of initiative, follow-through, and accountability for actions

Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and reporting skills

Ability to work under pressure

Good verbal and written communication skills in Malay and English
