Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a Group Accountant cum Consolidation Reporting Manager to oversee the group financial consolidation process and ensure timely, compliant financial reporting. You will coordinate with subsidiaries, prepare consolidated financial statements, and drive improvements in governance, controls, and reporting accuracy across the group.

The role requires hands-on management of month-end and year-end closings, audits, budgets, and forecasts, with a focus on process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/MIA/CA/CPA) preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in a similar capacity; Big 4 or manufacturing background advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and analyses.
• Ensure accurate recording of transactions in line with MFRS, policies, and statutory requirements.
• Monitor general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month/year-end closings.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies through detailed analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate annual audits and prepare audited FS and schedules for external auditors.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and performance reports.
• Support management with cost analysis, performance reviews, and planning initiatives.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, SOPs, internal controls, and governance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation for efficiency.
• Provide guidance and development support to finance team members.

The Group Accountant cum Consolidation Reporting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the group financial consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves coordinating with various subsidiaries, preparing consolidated financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses to support business decision-making.

Ensure accurate, timely, and complete recording of financial transactions in compliance with MFRS, company policies, and statutory requirements.

Monitor general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.

Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances through detailed analysis and appropriate corrective actions.

Coordinate the annual audit process, including the preparation of audited financial statements and supporting schedules required by external auditors.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance reports.

Support management in cost analysis, operational performance reviews, and financial planning initiatives.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate policies.

Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Provide guidance and support to finance team members and contribute to their development and performance improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance graduate or equivalent.

Professional accounting qualification i.e. ACCA / MIA / CA / CPA or equivalent is preferred.

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in similar capacity, prior experience in the Big 4 and/or manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
