The Group Accountant is responsible for managing the Group's financial reporting and consolidation process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements across all subsidiaries. The role supports management decision-making through financial analysis, maintains compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and statutory requirements, and drives continuous improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the Group
- Perform group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports by subsidiaries
- Review subsidiary financial statements for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and variance reports for senior management
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Compliance & Statutory Reporting
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, IFRS, Companies Act 2016, and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate annual external audits and statutory reporting
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and company secretaries
- Support tax compliance and regulatory submissions
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Review and enhance accounting policies, financial controls, and standard operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency
- Support ERP implementation and finance system enhancements where applicable
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor Group cash flow and liquidity
- Support treasury activities and banking relationships
- Assist in foreign exchange and funding matters where required
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with finance teams across subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting practices
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
- Support cross-functional projects involving finance and business operations
Qualifications & Experienc
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA, or MIA is preferred
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, group consolidation, or audit
- Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or multi-entity environment is an advantage

- Experience with SQL systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
