Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Manager, Contract (Quantity Surveyor) based in Petaling Jaya to oversee cost, contract and procurement activities for development projects. You will ensure compliance with contract terms, quality standards, timeliness and cost efficiency.

The candidate should hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field with 8-10 years' experience in contracts and procurement within property development or construction, and possess solid knowledge of Malaysian contract law.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying / Building / Construction Management or related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in Contracts & Procurement in property development or construction.
• Familiar with Malaysian contract law.
• Strong contracting and negotiation skills with industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Cost, Contract and Procurement activities and ensure development projects comply with terms and conditions of contracts and within quality standards, timely, and costs efficiency.
• To manage overall functions, operations and activities related to tendering, contracting, procurement and etc.
• To prepare the project cost budget, cash-flow for project, track changes in design/construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
• To ensure costing and contract related matters are resolved as per top management’s direction and goal.
• To assist in evaluating and review tenders received according to the tender requirements, scope of works, cost estimation, development of conceptual schedule, determination of available resources, sourcing of contractors, and evaluation of risks and legal issues.
• To endorse for procurement of materials, contractors and machinery as per project procurement schedule.

Job Requirements

Familiarity with Malaysian contract law is essential.

Strong contracting and negotiation experience complemented by expertise in property development or construction industry experience.
