Job summary

Green Island Feed Mills Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on feed mill machinery, production equipment, and facilities. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components, respond to breakdowns promptly, and record all maintenance activities.

The role requires a certificate or diploma in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or industrial maintenance, with 1–2 years of manufacturing

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in feed milling, food manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or process manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on feed mill machinery, production equipment, and factory facilities.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Carry out routine checks on motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, boilers, compressors, and related systems.
• Record maintenance activities, breakdown details, repairs, and spare-parts usage.
• Support equipment installation, modification, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with Production and other departments to schedule maintenance work.
• Ensure tools and spare parts are properly stored and maintained.
• Comply with safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, SOPs, feed safety, and 5S standards.
• Assist external contractors and suppliers during servicing or repair work.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Job description

Job Requirements

Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.

Minimum 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Experience in feed milling, food manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or process manufacturing is an advantage.

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, motors, pumps, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

Able to read basic technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

Familiar with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, workplace safety, lockout/tagout, and 5S practices.

Hands-on, responsible, safety-conscious, and capable of solving technical problems.

Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
