Job summary

Xianfeng International (M) Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Johor, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to keep our facilities running smoothly.

You will work with production staff to schedule maintenance, maintain detailed records, and comply with safety standards while contributing to continuous improvement and on-the-job mentoring of junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic and hand tools; able to read technical drawings.
• Maintains detailed maintenance records and reports.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge, and implement effective repair solutions
• Conduct inspections of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify potential issues before they become critical problems
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests to minimise operational disruptions
• Perform general maintenance tasks including lubrication, cleaning, adjustment, and replacement of worn components
• Collaborate with production staff and other team members to communicate maintenance needs and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards whilst carrying out all maintenance activities
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff as required

This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities and equipment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. This role is essential to maintaining our operational excellence and minimising downtime across our operations.

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar technical maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and their maintenance requirements
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and hand tools required for maintenance and repair work
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
• Sound understanding of preventative maintenance principles and best practices
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Physical capability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy components and working in various environmental conditions
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in maintenance, electrical work, or mechanical engineering are advantageous
• Valid driving licence is preferred
