Job summary

LEXU Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd – Taman Senai, Johor is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on precast factory machinery. You will inspect, troubleshoot and repair equipment including forklifts, motors, panels and sensors, while ensuring safety procedures are followed.

The role involves routine servicing, basic electrical work, welding, and collaboration with external contractors, with overtime for urgent breakdowns as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma or relevant practical experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic or industrial maintenance.
• Experience in precast, construction materials, manufacturing or heavy machinery maintenance is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Able to troubleshoot equipment, perform repairs and work independently.
• Willing to work overtime or attend to urgent breakdowns when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment used in the precast factory.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair equipment, including forklift, machinery equipment and others factory equipment, where applicable.
• Attend to machinery breakdowns promptly to minimize disruption to production.
• Perform routine inspections, servicing, lubrication and replacement of worn or damaged parts.
• Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and repair of motors, control panels, sensors, switches and factory lighting, subject to the technician’s competency and authorization.
• Carry out basic welding, fabrication and repair of moulds, racks, workstations and other factory equipment when required.
• Monitor the condition of tools, machinery and equipment and report defects or potential safety hazards.
• Coordinate with external contractors, equipment suppliers and service providers for specialist repairs, servicing and statutory inspections.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, maintenance activities, servicing schedules and spare parts usage.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and inform the supervisor when replacements or additional materials are needed.
• Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of new machinery or equipment.
• Maintain factory facilities, including lighting, plumbing, water supply, drainage and general building repairs, where required.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and lockout/tagout procedures when servicing machinery.
• Support production teams during urgent equipment issues and provide maintenance assistance when required.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by management.
