Job summary

Paper Base Converting Sdn Bhd in Kapar, Malaysia, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and inspect equipment to minimize downtime.

The role requires a certificate/diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, at least 1 year maintenance experience, willingness to work overtime or shifts, and a commitment to safety and clean work areas. This position supports production lines and facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment will be an advantage.
• Willing to work overtime or shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair machines, equipment, and facilities breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) according to the scheduled maintenance plan.
• Conduct regular inspections of machines, equipment, and facilities to identify potential problems.
• Ensure critical machine spare parts are available and maintain proper spare parts inventory.
• Carry out basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility repairs.
• Record maintenance, repair, breakdown, and PM activities properly.
• Identify recurring problems and recommend suitable corrective actions.
• Coordinate with external contractors or service providers when specialized maintenance is required.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and according to company procedures.
• Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Support machine installation, modification, and improvement projects when required.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
