Job summary

Otis Elevator Company in Malaysia seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to ensure safe operation of elevator and escalator units in the Greater Ipoh Area. You will perform servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting in line with the company maintenance program.

The role requires basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, plus 3 years of relevant elevator industry experience, with a customer-focused, can-do attitude and a valid motorcycle license. Flexibility for 24-hour standby may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM with technical certificate.
• Basic Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical knowledge.
• 3 years of relevant elevator/lift/escalator experience.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
• Familiar with elevator operation and able to work independently.
• Willing to 24-hour breakdown standby.

Responsibilities

• Ensure servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting per maintenance program and schedule.
• Report abnormal findings to supervisor/engineer for action.
• Ensure work is documented with job-sheet acknowledged by customer.
• Attend breakdown callbacks promptly, prioritising man-trap situations.
• Perform other repairs as instructed by supervisor/engineer.
• May be required for 24-hour breakdown standby duties.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Sigma is growing and is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in Greater Ipoh Area . Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of elevator and escalator units.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure all servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting work are diligently and professionally performed according to the Company's maintenance program and work schedule.
• To report all abnormal findings to superior, supervisor and or engineer for further action.
• To ensure that all the work performed (i.e. servicing, parts replacement, repairs and breakdown) are accompanied by relevant job-sheet acknowledged by the respective customer.
• To attend as soon as reasonably possible, to all breakdown callback assignment. Priority is to be given for 'man trap' situation.
• To perform other repair works as instructed by the Supervisor and or Engineer.
• Might be required for 24-hour Breakdown Callback Standby duties.
• Any other duties that may be given by the Supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM, preferably with technical certificate
• Basic Electrical, Electronic and or Mechanical knowledge with minimum 3 years of relevant experiences in elevator/lift/escalator industry.
• Able to trouble shoot and solve technical problem will have added advantage.
• Familiar with elevator/lift and escalator operation.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Results-driven and committed.
• Comfortable dealing with customers.
• Brings a positive, can-do attitude.
• Must have valid motorcycle license.
