Job summary

Otis is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Greater Ipoh Area to safeguard passenger safety by maintaining elevator and escalator units. The role requires hands-on electrical, electronic and mechanical skills with a customer-facing mindset.

You will work under supervision, perform servicing, repairs, and breakdown troubleshooting, and may participate in 24-hour standby duties. This is a long-term, full-time position with OTIS.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, preferably with technical certificate in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in elevator/lift/escalator industry.
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting as per maintenance program.
• Report abnormal findings to supervisor/engineer for action.
• Ensure work is documented with a customer-acknowledged job-sheet.
• Respond promptly to breakdown callbacks, prioritising critical situations.
• Attend to other repair work as instructed by supervisor/engineer.
• Possibility of 24-hour breakdown standby duties.

Role Overview

Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of elevator and escalator units.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure all servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting work are diligently and professionally performed according to the Company's maintenance program and work schedule.
• To report all abnormal findings to superior, supervisor and or engineer for further action.
• To ensure that all the work performed (i.e. servicing, parts replacement, repairs and breakdown) are accompanied by relevant job-sheet acknowledged by the respective customer.
• To attend as soon as reasonably possible, to all breakdown callback assignment. Priority is to be given for 'man trap' situation.
• To perform other repair works as instructed by the Supervisor and or Engineer.
• Might be required for 24-hour Breakdown Callback Standby duties.
• Any other duties that may be given by the Supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM, preferably with technical certificate Basic Electrical, Electronic and or Mechanical knowledge with minimum 3 years of relevant experiences in elevator/lift/escalator industry.
• Able to trouble shoot and solve technical problem will have added advantage.
• Familiar with elevator/lift and escalator operation.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Results-driven and committed.
• Comfortable dealing with customers.
• Brings a positive, can-do attitude.
• Must have valid motorcycle license.
