Job summary

AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a maintenance engineer to plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective activities for high-end PCB/electronics production equipment in Kedah, Malaysia.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, perform root-cause analyses, and lead improvements to boost OEE and overall equipment reliability while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in equipment maintenance or manufacturing support in PCB/semiconductor/electronics industries.
• Experience in Plating, Lithography, Mechanical Build-Up (MBU), Assembly, or Test processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Familiar with PLCs, HMIs, servo motors, sensors, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control systems.
• Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings and support installation, commissioning, and qualification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related failures.
• Conduct RCA and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, OEE, and maintenance performance.
• Support installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of new production equipment.
• Manage critical spares, inventory, and maintenance procurement to ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with Production, Process, Quality, and Procurement to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining standards.
• Lead maintenance projects to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Coach and develop technicians to enhance troubleshooting and maintenance execution.

Job description

Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related equipment failures.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment breakdowns and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Drive improvements in equipment reliability, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and maintenance performance.

Support the installation, commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up of new production equipment.

Manage critical spare parts, inventory levels, and maintenance procurement activities to ensure equipment readiness.

Collaborate with Production, Process, Quality, and Procurement teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining maintenance standards.

Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities and continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize operational performance.

Coach, develop, and qualify technicians to enhance technical competency, troubleshooting capability, and maintenance execution effectiveness.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or manufacturing support within PCB, semiconductor, or electronics industries.

Experience in Plating, Lithography, Mechanical Build-Up (MBU), Assembly, or Test processes.

Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Familiar with PLCs, HMIs, servo motors, sensors, industrial robotics, pneumatic, hydraulic, and motion control systems.

Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings and support equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of safety requirements and equipment reliability improvement.
