Job summary

AT&S AUSTRIA TECHNOLOGIE & SYSTEMTECHNIK (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Senior Specialist 2 – Plant Engineering (Process) to lead production process start-up and readiness for high-volume manufacturing at Kulim, Malaysia.

You will manage process KPIs, drive CIP projects, and collaborate with Equipment Engineers on tool selection and qualification, while guiding junior engineers and ensuring safety and quality compliance across the process governance framework.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a technical field.
• 5–10 years experience as Process Engineer in IC substrates/PCB/Wafer Fab/Solar cell industries.
• Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA, CP, JMP.

Responsibilities

• Lead production process start-up and readiness for high-volume manufacturing.
• Manage process KPIs including qualification, release, optimization, yield and uptime.
• Drive CIP projects to improve process capability and ramp new products.
• Collaborate with Equipment Engineers on tool selection and qualification plans.

Senior Specialist 2 – Plant Engineering (Process)

Responsible for production process start up, process readiness for HVM, Setup Line of defence setup/ New Product Introduction, Yield target and Roadmap. Work closely with Equipment Engineer for tool selection and qualification plan.

Manage production process KPIs (Process Qualification/Release/Optimization, Quality & Yield, Uptime/OEE, Direct/Indirect Materials Cost & Budget Planning, Safety, team resources management, training & development, support equipment start-up, qualification and ramp, audits)

Lead Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enable process capability/stability, setup line of defence, defect classification, yield and performance enhancement, cost reduction, capacity expansion, personnel resources development and retention

Involve in Tool and Process Strategy, Tool and Process Roadmap, Process development and Industrialization

Provide guidance to junior process engineering/ technician on process related topics at function, or cross (involve framework and landscape on process governance, guidelines, policies, systems, etc)

Manage competency matrix on own process

Conduct root cause analysis (Focus team, Task force, 8D), and implement corrective and preventive actions for process-related issues

Create and maintain documentation, certification & compliance of procedure according to safety & quality standard to meet legal & customer requirements

Job Requirement:

Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, science or applicable technical field

5 to 10 years' experience as Process Engineering in IC Substrates/PCB/Wafer Fab/Solar Cell manufacturing industry

Required Process knowhow in IC Substrate or advance PCB (Lamination/ Lithography/ Wet/ Plating/ Laser technology/ Solder/ Finishing/ Solder attachment/ Dicing/ E-test/ Inspection/ Routing)

Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA, CP, JMP Software, Six Sigma Process tools.

Strong interest in hands-on process start-up/NPI, qualification and ramp projects.

Adaptability and flexibility in fast pace and ever-changing environment.
