Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Mainframe Production Support professional in Malaysia. You will support business operations, monitor performance, and analyze incidents to implement preventive measures, while collaborating with IT and business teams to optimize systems.

The role requires 6+ years in mainframe production support, with COBOL/JCL/CICS/DB2 expertise; ITIL is a plus. Finance/insurance domain experience is preferred; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Senior: >6 years of experience in a mainframe production support role or similar (Developer).
• Experience in finance, banking or insurance industries preferred.
• Proven experience in mainframe production support with knowledge of batch vs online processing.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS and DB2; familiarity with SQL.
• Understanding of mainframe environments and related tooling.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with business users.

Responsibilities

• Support business operations by resolving issues raised by business users or via alerts.
• Monitor performance, analyze issues, and document root causes with preventive recommendations.
• Analyze technology trends within IT lines to design improved solutions for productivity.
• Enrich documentation around production support and development processes to maintain efficiency.

• Proven experience as a mainframe production support role or similar role (Developer)
• Understanding of mainframe technologies and environments (Batch processes versus Online)
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 as well as TSO.
• RTC tool understanding (IBM) is a nice to have
• Knowledge in SQL

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team and with business teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Support business operations on their areas by resolving issues raised by business users and event / alerts driven or by improving or performing systems configurations
• Ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of applications by monitoring, analyzing and reports root cause of system/ production disruption and include recommendations to prevent the reoccurrence of glitches, defects & bugs.
• Analyze within their IT lines the current technology trends and look for opportunities to design new technology solutions that would maximize the company's productivity and improve business operations.
• Enrich procedures & documentation of deliverables. Keep documentation and processes around production support as well development cycle up to date and at his best possible efficiency.
