Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to support a core banking payment platform serving 10+ countries across APAC. The role involves end-to-end application development, from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, implementation and warranty support; this is not a pure maintenance role.

Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, translating them into solutions, coding, testing and production implementation using COBOL

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of COBOL development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AS400/IBM i, COBOL and DB2.
• Experience with Aldon or similar source/version control tools.
• Experience working across the full SDLC, especially in banking/payments.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to support a core banking payment platform serving 10+ countries across the APAC region. The role involves end-to-end application development, from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, implementation and warranty support. This is not a pure maintenance/support role.

Key responsibilities

Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into application solutions.

Perform end-to-end development activities including design, coding, testing, implementation and warranty support.

Develop and enhance core banking/payment applications using COBOL.

Work with AS400, DB2 and Aldon within the application development environment.

Participate in SIT, UAT, production implementation and post-implementation support.

Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Work closely with business users, technical teams and other project stakeholders across APAC.

Ensure development deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards and timelines.

Prepare and maintain relevant technical and project documentation.

About you

6–12 years of relevant COBOL development experience.

Hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i, COBOL and DB2.

Experience with Aldon or similar source/version management tools.

Experience working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Experience in banking, financial services or payment systems is highly advantageous.

IBM Mainframe COBOL experience, including S/390 / z/390 environments, encouraged to apply.

Comparable COBOL development experience with strong fundamentals will be considered.
