Job summary

Sunrise Recruit (CP4U) seeks a skilled machinist to operate conventional and CNC lathes for turning, facing, boring and threading in a Malaysia-based workshop.

You will interpret drawings, select tools, set cutting parameters, and measure parts to tight tolerances using micrometers and other gauges. Prioritize 5S and routine maintenance of machines and coolant systems.

Qualifications

• Experience operating conventional/manual and CNC lathe machines.
• Ability to read technical schematics and drawings.
• Familiar with measuring instruments for quality tolerance checks.

Job description

1. Set up, adjust, and operate conventional (manual) and CNC lathe machines to perform turning, facing, boring, and threading.
2. Machine heavy-duty conveyor parts, including shafts, end plates, flanges, bushings, and screw auger center pipes.
3. Interpret technical schematics, engineering drawings, and layouts to calculate cutting paths, tolerances, and surface finishes.
4. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds optimized for Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316) and mild steel.
5. Measure completed workpieces using micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges against quality tolerances.
6. Perform routine preventative maintenance, manage coolant levels, clean metal shavings, and maintain 5S workplace standards.

Working day: Mon-Fri | Sat

Working hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm | 8.30am - 1.30pm
