We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Setter to join our production team. You will be responsible for preparing CNC machines, tooling and supporting documents to ensure smooth, safe and efficient production. The successful candidate should have knowledge of CNC milling or turning, good technical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
Prepare tooling and supporting documents for machine setup, including production manuals, tooling layouts, cutting tools, gauges and CNC programs.
Set up CNC machines according to production and technical requirements.
Perform sample fabrication and First Article (FA) inspection.
Obtain approval from the Quality Department before handing over machines to operators for mass production.
Perform minor machine troubleshooting and resolve basic machining issues.
Ensure production operators carry out the required preventive maintenance activities.
Work closely with engineers, programmers and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
Maintain production continuity between shifts by documenting and communicating machine conditions, irregularities and outstanding actions.
Ensure all machining activities comply with safety procedures and company regulations.
Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work area, including machines, tools and workbenches.
Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in CNC Machining, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
Preferably at least 2 years of relevant CNC machining or machine-setting experience.
Proficient in handling and setting up CNC machines.
Strong knowledge of either CNC milling or CNC turning.
Able to interpret technical drawings, machining instructions and specifications.
Familiar with cutting tools, measuring instruments, gauges and basic CNC programming.
Able to perform minor machine troubleshooting.
Good awareness of workplace safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.
Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
