Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Malaysia is seeking an experienced machinist to operate CNC and other fabrication processes to manufacture aircraft engine parts in line with technical documents. You will read blueprints, use precision tools, and follow travelers and engine manuals with strict attention to quality and safety.

Role requires 0–5 years in aerospace, strong measurement skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing or similar roles (0–5 years).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents in English.
• Basic shop math and measurement skills using precision tools.
• Ability to work in a detail‑oriented, compliant environment with safety rules.
• Strong communication and ability to multitask on busy shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling, grinding, EDM, press and related processes per technical documents.
• Follow work instructions, engine manuals and traveler sheets precisely.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear required PPE at all times.
• Perform operations in priority order and report nonconformances.
• Assist engineering with new part development when required.
• Provide trainings to others when necessary and maintain housekeeping.

Job description

Perform a variety of duties to operate and support machining and fabrication processes, including but not limited to CNC milling, CNC grinding, EDM (Wirecut/Sinker), press, shot peening, and seal fabrication, to manufacture aircraft engine parts in accordance with technical documents.

Understand and adhere to all work instructions associated with the work you are performing

Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties, including proper PPE

Perform jobs in priority order unless instructed otherwise

Perform and complete operations in accordance with required technical data referred to in job traveler, including operation sheets, engine manuals, OEM SPMs, and written instructions from engineering

Assist engineering with new part development if necessary or required

Provide trainings to others when required or necessary

Report nonconformances related to parts, paperwork, equipment, tooling or materials to the immediate Cell Leader

Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area

About you

0 - 5 years of similar duties in the aerospace environment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

Skilled in the use of micrometers, calipers, verniers, gauge blocks, radius gauges, gauge pins and visual aids

Basic shop math, ability to read, write, and interpret English

Ability to effectively utilize lifting devices

Ability to interpret travelers and work instructions

Ability to verify log and procedures for accuracy

Strong attention to detail

Ability to multitask

Good communications skills
