Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Malaysia is seeking an experienced procurement professional to source materials and manage supplier performance for aerospace manufacturing.

You will drive cost savings, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain compliance with purchasing policies while collaborating with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams.

Diploma or Bachelor’s in supply chain required; minimum 5 years in aerospace procurement; proficient in MS Office and able to work independently.

• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Participate in material review and escalate issues for timely resolution.

Core Responsibilities:

• To source and procure materials in the most cost effective and time efficient manner to meet organisation needs.
• Ensure compliance of the company standards on purchasing policies and procedures.
• Plan and coordinate timely delivery of purchases to meet organisation on time delivery requirements.
• Responsible for driving cost savings without compromising the overall quality, mitigate risk of single source by expanding vendor base, i.e. qualify new vendors; and be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of vendors in terms of delivery and product quality.
• Participate in material review and ensure material issues are elevated and resolved in a timely manner
• Participate actively in continuous improvement programs and take initiative to enhance material planning process
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and finance etc
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in materials procurement and vendor management in the aerospace / manufacturing industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
• High attention to details.
• Organised and ability to follow through from sourcing to delivery.
• Pro-active, results oriented and self-driven.
• Able to work independently and make sound decision based on data.
• Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Education Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent.
