Job summary

Barnes Aerospace, a unit of Barnes Group Inc., is seeking an experienced procurement professional in Malaysia to source materials, manage vendors, and drive cost savings while ensuring on-time delivery. The role requires strong communication, organization, and data-driven decision skills in a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality and finance, and will contribute to continuous improvement of material

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in materials procurement and vendor management in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
• High attention to detail; organized with follow-through from sourcing to delivery.
• Pro-active, results oriented and self-driven.
• Able to work independently and make data-driven decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

• To source and procure materials in the most cost effective and time efficient manner to meet organisation needs.
• Ensure compliance of the company standards on purchasing policies and procedures.
• Plan and coordinate timely delivery of purchases to meet organisation on time delivery requirements.
• Responsible for driving cost savings without compromising the overall quality, mitigate risk of single source by expanding vendor base, i.e. qualify new vendors; and be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of vendors in terms of delivery and product quality.
• Participate in material review and ensure material issues are elevated and resolved in a timely manner
• Participate actively in continuous improvement programs and take initiative to enhance material planning process
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and finance etc
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in materials procurement and vendor management in the aerospace / manufacturing industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
• High attention to details.
• Organised and ability to follow through from sourcing to delivery.
• Pro-active, results oriented and self-driven.
• Able to work independently and make sound decision based on data.
• Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Education Requirements:
