Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering and/or Certificate in Precision Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in manufacturing or related machining field.
• Direct, hands-on experience with Star and Tsugami models preferred.
• Ability to read and write CNC programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines on the shop floor.
• Perform fast, accurate new-product setups for auto lathe and CNC equipment to meet production schedules and reduce downtime.
• Oversee CNC programming, parameter adjustments, and setup for Turning to improve tool life and cycle time.
• Mentor and train production operators on basic machine operation and SOPs.
• Monitor machine performance and maintain quality to achieve daily targets.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean 5S workstation.

Job description

CNC Turning, Milling, Auto Lathe Craftsman / Specialist

We are looking for hands‑on CNC Turning, Milling, Auto Lathe Craftsman / Specialist to set up, operate, maintain, and independently troubleshoot CNC machines. Beyond maximizing machine uptime, process optimization, and product quality, this role plays a key part in coaching and training production operators to build local technical capability on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

Perform fast, accurate new-product setups for auto lathe and CNC equipment to meet production schedules, minimize downtime, and execute dimensional adjustments.

Handle CNC machine programming, parameter adjustments, and set-up (Turning) while overseeing process design and tooling control management to improve tool life and cycle time.

Independently carry out troubleshooting, major machine repairs, and routine preventive maintenance to quickly resolve machining and quality issues.

Guide, mentor, and train production operators on basic machine operation, routine checks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor machine performance and maintain strict quality standards to achieve daily production targets.

Ensure strict adherence to company safety rules, local DOSH/safety guidelines, and maintain a clean 5S workstation.

Keep accurate production logs, work orders, and equipment records.

About you

Diploma in mechanical engineering and/or Certificate in Precision Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).

At least 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in the manufacturing industry or a related machining field, specifically with sliding‑head CNC auto lathes.

Direct, hands‑on experience with Star (SB-20RG or 20RII, SR-38 Type B, SB-20JE) and/or Tsugami (B012E) machine models (or similar equipment) are strongly preferred.

Proven ability to perform independent machine setup, troubleshooting, and major repairs.

Knowledge of CNC machine programming, parameter adjustments, process design, and tooling control management.

Ability to read and write CNC programs.

Strong proficiency with precision measuring instruments.

Good communication skills with patience and the ability to coach and upskill production operators.

Detail‑oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
