Job summary

Array Metal (M) Sdn Berhad is seeking a lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for steering technical and engineering activities across projects, with emphasis on structural steel, welded fabrication and manufacturability.

You will act as the main technical focal point between customers, project teams and internal functions such as Fabrication, Production, Assembly, Supply Chain and Quality, using SolidWorks for 3D models and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Experience with fabrication, welding and structural steel.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and ability to read complex drawings.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Fabrication, Production, Quality, Supply Chain).
• Strong DFMA and BOM understanding, change/configuration control.

Responsibilities

• Lead review of customer drawings, specs and design inputs to establish technical and manufacturing requirements.
• Lead technical clarification with customers and internal stakeholders, including RFIs and engineering queries.
• Perform DFMA reviews to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Review structural steel designs, welded connections, tolerances and fabrication requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on welding/fabrication and develop 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop, review and release MBOMs, manufacturing drawings and programs as required by downstream teams.
