Job summary

Search Personnel Pte Ltd is seeking a Production Manager for steel fabrication/structural steel to lead daily operations in Malaysia. You will plan production schedules, manage manpower, materials, and equipment, and ensure on-time delivery and quality.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in mechanical/production engineering with at least 5 years in production or fabrication and strong knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of production or fabrication experience, including team supervision.
• Experience in steel fabrication/structural steel preferred.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering/fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of quality control, safety and cost management.
• Mandarin proficiency required for work-related communication with China-based counterparts and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to meet project schedules, quality standards and delivery targets.
• Plan production schedules, manpower, materials, machinery and equipment requirements.
• Supervise production supervisors, welders, fitters and production workers.
• Oversee steel fabrication activities, including cutting, welding, fitting, assembly and finishing.
• Review fabrication drawings and coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement and QA/QC teams.
• Resolve production issues, minimize downtime and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor productivity, production costs, material wastage, overtime and rework.
• Enforce workplace safety requirements and drive continuous improvement.
• Track production KPIs and report project progress, risks and delays to management.
