Job summary

MRC DESIGN & ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS SDN BHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Technical Lead to drive structural design, analysis and project delivery from design through construction. You will lead the project team, review calculations, coordinate with architects and consultants, ensure compliance with Malaysian standards, and mentor junior engineers.

This role requires a strong technical background, English and Bahasa Melayu proficiency, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered with BEM; PE/PEPC status advantageous.
• Strong knowledge in structural design and analysis.
• Proficient with STAAD.Pro, Orion, ESTEEM, Tekla, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Malaysian and international standards (Eurocodes, BS, MS, UBBL).
• Experience in statutory submissions and coordination with authorities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management.
• Ability to supervise juniors and manage multiple projects.
• English and Bahasa Melayu proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering design and technical delivery.
• Review calculations, drawings, and submissions.
• Provide practical solutions to complex design/construction issues.
• Coordinate with architects, M&E, geotechnical consultants, and contractors.
• Oversee civil works including infrastructure and drainage.
• Mentor junior staff and review their work.
• Ensure compliance with standards and project programme.
• Support site inspections and technical meetings.
