Job summary

China Communications Construction Company – Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities for M&E works, manage costs, and handle commercial matters across M&E projects.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, a minimum of 3 years' QS experience in M&E, and proficiency with cost software such as CostX/AutoCAD/Glodon. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying for M&E works
• Familiar with measurement standards, BQ preparation, VO, claims, and final accounts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, CostX, Glodon, or similar QS software
• Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or data centre projects is an added advantage
• Experience with Data Centre or Mission Critical Facility projects (preferred)
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BQ) for Mechanical & Electrical works
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison reports
• Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and payment certifications
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure remains within the approved budget
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams on commercial matters
• Assist in cost control, project forecasting, and commercial reporting
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
