Job summary

Hunza Group in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking an experienced M&E site engineer to oversee mechanical and electrical works on high-rise and commercial developments. The role involves design input, supervision, coordination, and ensuring quality and safety on site.

You will witness M&E tests, document records, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and support senior management. Requires a Diploma in Engineering and 7–10 years in related fields; Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of experience in high-rise and commercial development.
• Proficient in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin preferred for client communication.
• Able to multitask and coordinate on various M&E matters.
• Experience with AutoCad and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide design input, supervision, and coordination for site M&E works.
• Witness M&E tests, document test records, and perform quality checks on subcontractors' work.
• Ensure M&E works comply with drawings and specifications and meet quality standards.
• Ensure safety rules and requirements are observed by M&E subcontractor workers.
• Coordinate with M&E consultants and subcontractors to resolve site issues and progress per schedule.
• Carry out other tasks as requested by senior management.

Job description

Job Descriptions:

• To provide design input, supervision, co-ordination, and monitoring to the site construction activities carried out for all project development, specifically in mechanical & electrical works.
• To assist in witnessing various M&E tests, documentation of test records and quality checking on the subcontractor’s day-to-day works at the site.
• Ensure that all M&E works are strictly carried out in accordance to Consultant’s drawings and specifications, and making sure quality standards are achieved.
• Ensure the M&E subcontractor’s workers’ observe and adhere to all site safety rules and requirements.
• Coordinate with M&E Consultant, and subcontractors to resolve site issues and making sure works are able to progress smoothly as per schedule.
• Carry out any other job tasks/ assignments as and when requested by Senior Management, Department Head or direct superior.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent.
• At least 7-10 years of working experience in the related field, such as high rise and commercial development is required for this position.
• Required language(s): English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Able to multitask and coordinate on various M&E matters.
• Required Skill(s): AutoCad, MS Office.
• Preferably Senior Executive specialized in Engineering - Civil/Construction/Structural or equivalent.
