Job summary

Soong Yuan Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Lorry Driver to join our transporter team in Kota Marudu, Sabah. This full-time role focuses on delivering goods safely and on time while maintaining vehicles and records and coordinating with dispatch and clients.

We value reliability, punctuality and strong customer service. The successful candidate will have a GDL and at least 1 year of road transport experience, with knowledge of Kota Marudu routes or a willingness to learn quickly.

Qualifications

• Valid Goods Driving Licence (GDL) is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a professional lorry driver in road transport.
• Excellent knowledge of local and national traffic laws and load management.
• Strong mechanical understanding to identify and report maintenance issues.
• Reliability, punctuality and a focus on customer service.
• Familiarity with Kota Marudu area or willingness to learn routes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy goods vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations and safety standards.
• Plan and execute delivery routes to meet schedules and customer requirements.
• Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure optimal condition.
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel, delivery times and incidents.
• Communicate with dispatch, customers and team about delivery status.
• Adhere to weight limits and all road transport regulations.
• Keep vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
• Report mechanical problems or safety concerns promptly.
