At Cortical Labs, we have integrated machine learning, engineering, and neuroscience to develop Synthetic Biological Intelligence (SBI). Our work focuses on using biological neurons as a functional component of computing systems to create technology that is adaptive and resource-efficient.

To achieve this, we operate within a multidisciplinary framework. Our team develops the software for real-time closed-loop systems and the hardware necessary to support the neural cultures. We are focused on the practical application of biological intelligence in digital environments, robotics, and scientific research.

To date, we have successfully developed and launched our CL1 product that demonstrates real-time learning in neural systems and have just launched our cloud service for global access to these systems.

Who We're Seeking

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supply Chain Coordinator to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, working as part of our regional team supporting Cortical Labs' growing manufacturing and global operations footprint.

This is a critical bridge role: you'll be the primary point of contact for our core manufacturing suppliers in Malaysia, and the logistics support person for our operations and sales teams globally.

You'll work closely with our Hardware and Sales teams, both locally in KL and remotely with colleagues in Australia, to keep components, inventory, and shipments moving smoothly as we scale.

You Have:

5-10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory coordination, ideally within a manufacturing or hardware environment

Proven experience as the main point of contact for manufacturing suppliers, managing day-to-day relationships and resolving issues

Experience designing and implementing inventory management systems and procedures, not just operating within existing ones

Strong logistics coordination experience, including freight (sea/air), customs, and import/export documentation

High proficiency in written and spoken English, comfortable communicating daily with global stakeholders

Ability to work autonomously and take ownership in a small, fast-moving team

Preferred Experience

Hands-on experience with Odoo (our inventory and accounting system) or comparable ERP platforms (SAP, NetSuite, etc.)

Experience supporting global/cross-border operations spanning multiple time zones

Background in electronics, hardware, or biotech manufacturing supply chains

Experience working directly with Sales and Hardware/Engineering teams

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for Cortical Labs' core manufacturing suppliers in Malaysia, and the communications point for a wider group of secondary suppliers, ensuring reliable delivery and clear day-to-day coordination.

Global Logistics Support: Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for global operations and sales, including shipment tracking, freight forwarding, and customs/import-export documentation.

Inventory Systems & Process Design: Design, implement, and continuously improve inventory management systems and procedures in Odoo - building the processes, not just following them.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work daily with the Hardware team on component and production timing, and with the Sales team on order fulfilment and delivery commitments, across both the Malaysia and Australia offices.

Reporting & Visibility: Maintain accurate, up-to-date visibility of stock levels, supplier performance, and shipment status for stakeholders in Malaysia and Australia.

Occasional Travel: Travel periodically (approx. 10-15%) to supplier sites in Ipoh, Malaysia, and to Singapore to support operations.

What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days, this person will have built strong working relationships with all core and secondary manufacturing suppliers, and completed an end-to-end audit of current inventory and logistics processes. They will have documented a baseline set of inventory procedures in Odoo and established regular touchpoints with the Hardware and Sales teams in Australia, becoming a trusted and reliable point of contact for both the Malaysian team and the broader global organisation.
