Job summary

VAT Group in Batu Kawan, Malaysia, is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Lead to drive safety, efficiency, and accuracy across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.

You will lead a cross-functional team, manage KPIs such as inventory accuracy, on-time shipment, and throughput, and push continuous improvements in layout, automation, and material flow. Diploma or degree in SCM or related field preferred, with 2–5 years in warehouse leadership.

  • Experience in warehouse leadership and people management.
  • Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP/D365, inventory management and material flow.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain warehouse safety as the #1 priority and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Operational Execution: Ensure daily warehouse activities meet receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, staging, shipment targets.
  • Material Flow & TPT: Drive end-to-end material flow and improve turnaround from receiving to material-on-stage.
  • KPI & Performance: Own KPIs including inventory accuracy and on-time shipments.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning: Plan manpower, shifts, overtime, equipment, and storage capacity.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure inventory accuracy and cycle counts with timely resolutions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement and automation.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with Planning, Buyer, Production, Quality, Logistics, Customs, and Suppliers.

Your Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain warehouse safety as the #1 priority and ensure compliance with MHE, SOP, 6S, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Execution: Ensure daily warehouse activities meet targets for receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, staging, shipment, and material movement.
  • Material Flow & TPT: Drive end-to-end material flow and improve turnaround time (TPT) from receiving to material-on-stage.
  • KPI & Performance: Own warehouse KPIs including Material on Stage by 7AM, daily shipment/volume target, inventory accuracy, productivity, TPT, and service level.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning: Plan manpower, shifts, overtime, equipment, storage capacity, and transportation according to business demand and ramp requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure inventory accuracy, cycle count discipline, reconciliation, and timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement, automation, layout optimization, and standard-work initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Planning, Buyer, Production, Quality, Logistics, Customs, and Suppliers to ensure predictable material flow and execution.
  • Escalation & Problem Solving: Quickly identify operational risks, establish containment, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Leadership & Accountability: Set clear expectations for area owners and supervisors, review daily performance, and drive accountability for results.
  • Drive projects related to warehouse improvement, expansion , capacity improvement , automation and material flow improvement projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of warehouse/logistics experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume operation.
  • Proven experience in warehouse leadership and people management.
  • Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP/D365, inventory management, and material flow processes.
  • Experience managing warehouse KPIs, TPT, productivity, capacity, and manpower planning.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in ramp-up, peak-volume, and urgent/expedite operations is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • MHE/warehouse safety knowledge and relevant certification is an advantage.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment and drive results through cross-functional teams.
