Job summary

Suzuki Malaysia is seeking a logistics coordinator to manage daily import/export shipments, freight arrangements, and documentation. You will liaise with local and overseas vendors, forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and compliant processes.

Candidate should have 2–4 years in logistics, with English proficiency and knowledge of Mandarin a plus. Opportunities to optimize shipping with cost-saving measures and a focus on accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of working experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, import/export or transportation coordination.
• Experience in handling export and import shipments from China to Malaysia will be highly preferred.
• Experience dealing directly with China-based vendors/suppliers is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with sea freight, air freight, customs clearance and local transportation arrangements.
• Good knowledge of shipping and import/export documentation.
• Good command of English for business communication and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage, particularly when dealing with China-based vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Good organizational, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Able to work independently and meet shipment deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and in-charge the Company’s daily logistics operations, including import and export shipments, freight arrangements, customs clearance, transportation, delivery coordination and logistics documentation.
• Work closely with local and overseas vendors, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs agents, transporters and internal departments to ensure shipments are properly arranged, accurately documented and delivered within the required timeline.
• Source and negotiate with forwarders to enjoy lower freight rate from time to time.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Sales and other relevant departments to optimize shipping processes.
• Monitor shipping schedule & liaise with all shipping parties in ensuring the timely movement of consignments achieved.
• Verify freight bill, monitor freight outward tracking and submit cost saving reports to HOD.
• Regular communication with China-based vendors and suppliers to coordinate shipment arrangements, documentation, delivery schedules and logistics-related matters.
• Follow up on shipment delays, changes in vessel schedules, transhipment and other logistics issues.
• Ensure goods are delivered according to the required delivery schedule.
• Prepare, check and maintain shipping and import/export documentation.
• Maintain updated shipment tracking schedule for all outstanding shipments.
• Monitor ETD, ETA, vessel/flight details and delivery status.
• Provide regular shipment updates to relevant internal departments.
• Any other tasks will be assigned as required.
