Job summary

The GMP Group is seeking a Logistics Executive in Malaysia (Sarawak, Miri) to oversee shipping and import activities. You will liaise with procurement to arrange material collections and prepare permits for imports, ensuring timely approvals from CIDB, SIRIM, MCMC, and other authorities.

Applicants should have engineering-related degree, 2 years in shipbuilding/repairing, and 3 years in logistics roles; proficiency in MS Excel/Word and English/Malay is required.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering in materials / mechanical / marine preferred.
• 2 years experience in Ship Building / Ship Repairing Industry.
• 3 years experience in same capacity – Logistic Executive.
• Experienced in project logistics in the ship building / ship repairing sector and able to control suppliers and contractors effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for logistics and shipping tasks.
• Liaise with procurement and vendor to arrange material/equipment collection from vendor premises.
• Prepare and apply for AP (Application Permit) for imported items.
• Prepare and submit import e-approval applications through systems such as the E Permit system, SST system, etc.
• Submit approval applications to CIDB, SIRIM, MCMC, and other related authorities, and liaise with them for approvals.
• Liaise with procurement/vendors to obtain the required documents for import applications and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with agents and port authorities regarding customs declarations and the readiness of equipment/machineries.
• Maintain proper records and filing of imported item documentation for customs audit purposes.
• Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly import material reports to customs authorities.
• Prepare and submit “Surat Menukar Stesen” for agents to declare at other ports.
• Maintain proper records and documentation for appointed agents.
• Liaise with MOF, related authorities, and societies for Bona Fide renewal matters.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams on equipment/machinery deliveries to achieve the lowest shipping costs with best delivery timing.
• Consolidate and monitor shipment costs and submit weekly reports to ensure meet project budget.
• Undertake any other related duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.
• Comply with company ISO standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.

Education

Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Materials / Mechanical / Marine)

2 years experience in Ship Building / Ship Repairing Industry

3 years experience in same capacity – Logistic Executive
